The XII edition

The XII meeting, wich will take place in Lausanne (CH), aims at exploring to what extent different conditions — regarding the context of enunciation, the audience, the medium (oral or written) — define the manner of how a story is told and structured.

About the conference

The Orality and Literacy in the Ancient World conferences take place every second year in a different university. Previeus editions were held in Hobart (1994), Durban (1996), Wellington (1998), Columbia, Missouri (2000), Melbourne (2002), Winnipeg (2004), Auckland (2006), Nijmegen (2008), Canberra (2010), Ann Arbor, Michigan (2012) and Atlanta (2014). The proceedings of each conference are published by E. J. Brill in the Orality and Literacy in the Ancient World series.
